HOW DOES IT WORKS?

Kiploc Smartlock is an overlay smart lock, which means it is installed on top of the existing lock and uses the lock itself and the key to open the door. It just turns the key.

The opening process is very simple and it is done from the mobile phone: through the KIPLOC app you can see all the doors to which you have access and open them by clicking a button. It’s like having a key ring on your phone: you go to the door, take out your cellphone and open the door, easy!

The lock remains constantly connected to our platform so that there is knowledge at all times of any situation that occurs at the door: opening, closing, state of the lock and attempts to access by force.

The platform not only provides information, but also administration competences: you will manage through it who has permission to access the lock and for how long.

HOW DO I INSTALL IT?

Kiploc is installed in the inside of the property screwed to the door’s security shield. We include an explanatory manual in which it can be seen that, by using only two screws, any user is able to install it on any door in less than 5 minutes.

CAN I STILL USE MY HAND KEY IN MY SMART LOCK?

It depends. If the lock incorporates a double clutch cylinder (highly recommended for safety), manual opening can be maintained from the outside.

Updating the cylinder is a very simple operation for which, from Kiploc, we can provide double clutch cylinder tailored to the needs of each client.

WHO CAN UNLOCK MY KIPLOC?

Only those users to whom you have given permission from the platform. KIPLOC is thought and designed to keep control of the lock under all circumstances. Therefore, the administrator user who controls the lock from our platform has priority over any other user, and, consequently, it is him who manages the access permissions.

The system guarantees that only those users who have been granted permission can access the lock, that is why the administrator can, at any time and remotely, remove this access permission, even if the user refuses.

No user keeps “the key” on his mobile phone if the platform does not authorize it, the administrator has at all times the ability to modify the list of users and their access permissions.

DO I NEED INTERNET CONNECTION TO INSTALL AND USE MY KIPLOC?

No. Kiploc is 100% plug & play. It does not require an Internet connection nor does it need electricity. It incorporates connectivity with our platform and 99.9% coverage in more than 70 countries, therefore it will work wherever it is installed.

It is only necessary to insert the batteries and configure the device from the installation app (only an administrator with installation permissions can use this app) to control access to a property from anywhere.

CAN I DENY THE ACCESS PERMISSION TO A CURRENT USER OF MY KIPLOC?

Yes, the platform is designed to work on a scheduled basis, linked to your business software.

The user can control and withdraw the access permissions of a user at any time and under any circumstances.

There is no waiting and no need of the user’s collaboration. No one will have access to your lock if the platform does not authorize it.
